This richly colored and unique drawstring bag, or pouch, is believed to have originated in Turkey. The threads used in this handiwork are laced with metatic gold and silver highlights. The bag is lined with a rich, green satin and the workmanship is excellent. A lacy, crocheted edge surrounds the exterior and the drawstrings are laced through thin brass rings. The bag measures 9 1/2 inches by 7 1/4 inches. There are numerous messages in Arabic letters woven into the pattern, but there is no maker's label inside. This bag does not appear to have ever been used. The condition is pristine: no stains, tears, odors or other problems. We believe it was made during the mid-20th century. It weighs 2.3 oucnes.
