This diminutive serving piece has a sterling silver handle, and although unmarked, the spade appears to be silverplated. The entire piece measures 6 1/8 inches long and is 1 3/8 inches wide at the widest point on the serving end. The handle is hand-hammered in the Arts & Crafts tradition and on each side of the handle is a crest ideal for an engraved monogram. This particular pastry server has never been engraved. It is stamped at the narrow end of the handle, "Sterling Handle" and carries the Webster Silver Company hallmark. The condition is very good. There is normal wear, including a couple of minute indentations. There are no serious dents, no twists or wrinkles. The handle is firmly attached to the spade. This item weighs .9 ounces.
