Helena Wolfson was a skilled porcelain artist, whose studio was located in Dresden, Germany. Her establishment did not produce porcelain, but purchased blanks from other fine porcelain manufactories and then completed the pieces with colorful figures, flowers and romantic scenes. Wolfsohn's studio was open from 1843 to 1883, however in 1878 it was bought by Leopold Elb and W. E. Stephan, who, besides the crowned "D" mark, used the "AR" (for Augustus Rex) mark which had originally been registered to KPM of Meissen. This created legal difficulties for the two new owners and in 1883 the business closed.
