Copeland Spode Antique Black Transfer Urn as a Lamp

Our Price: $ 126.00
This antique, black transfer, porcelain lamp base is decorated with "The Walls & Hanging Gardens of Babylon" pattern.  It was produced as a vase by Copeland Spode of England, circa 1898.  It was made into an electric lamp during the mid-20th century and has just been rewired with new materials.  The pedestal base and cap of the lamp are probably brass with a recently applied black, matte paint. The height of the lamp is 16 inches and the shade and finial add another 11 inches to the overall height.  The  base is 6 1/2 inches wide.  The condition is excellent.  The porcelain is fine and without any cracks, chips, crazing or loss of the transfer.  The silk shade is equally nice, with no tears, stains or other problems.  The color of the shade is ivory with a black trim. The lamp and shade together weigh 6 pounds, 12 ounces.
