Jewelry Carved Shell Cameo, Sterling Silver & Gold Setting

Our Price: $ 95.00 This classically carved shell cameo is set in silver with a tiny gold braid enhancing the simple setting.  The cameo measures 1 1/4 inch long, 15/16 inch wide, and 3/8 inch deep.  It can be worn as a brooch or as a pendant.  The setting comes equipped with a tiny, hinged drop at the top.  The pinback has a tube hinge and works very well.  This cameo is unsigned and unmarked.  The setting is either sterling or .800 silver.  It is not silverplated.  The gold content of the braid is unknown.  We believe this item was carved and set circa 1930s/40s. The condition is excellent.  There are no cracks or chips from the cameo and the setting is equally fine.  It weighs .1 ounce. List Date:  05/09/10   Updating . . .
