This antique, aqua, glass bottle is 8 1/2 inches tall, 2 3/4 inches long, and 1 5/8 inches wide. We estimate that this bottle dates from about 1875, as the mold lines end at the base of the neck. The mold design includes raised lettering advertising "Ayer's Compound Ext. Sarsparilla, Lowell, Mass, U.S.A." The condition of the bottle is excellent. There are no chips or cracks. The glass contains many swirls and bubbles from its original manufacture, giving it character. It was probably dug from a dump at some point, as there appear to be two tiny stones embedded into the interior. Otherwise, it is very clean. This antique bottle weighs 13.2 ounces.
