This antique miser's purse is hand-knitted of olive green, silk floss, interspersed with tiny, cut-steel beads. Other than the original slit for the placement of coins, there are no other holes and we have found no sign of repairs. There are two steel cut rings still in place and the remnants of tassels at either end, also of tiny, steel cut beads. The entire purse measures 11 inches long, not including the tassels. There are no signatures or marks. This purse would have been made during the late 18th or early 19th century. For its age, this purse is in very good condition. Other than the tassels, there is some oxidation on some of the beads. It weighs 2.2 ounces.
